Our train pulled into Union Station, in Washington D.C. at 10:20pm and all the sleepy passengers emerged from the train like zombies out onto the platform. We walked more than we did all day just to get to our hotel, which was across the street from the station. Note: streets in D.C. are much larger than in NH and we did very little walking all day. 9 hour train ride complete!
We can see the U.S. Capitol Building from our hotel entrance and the U.S. Postal Museum is across the street.
Tomorrow we are off to Alexandria to visit Mount Vernon, George Washington's home.
I wonder what Easter festivities we will come across in our travels?!?
